OmniSYS Helps Pharmacies Advance Clinical Services with Launch of Interoperability Solution
October 21, 2020OmniSYS, a leading healthcare technology company focused on helping retail pharmacists practice at the top of their license, announced the availability of a new cloud-based solution that makes it easy for pharmacies to integrate clinical data sources and web-based applications into the pharmacy workflow.
Through its Encounter-Rx™ platform, OmniSYS simplifies the integration of data and services into the pharmacy workflow using standard interfaces which are cloud-based and powered by a secure, web-scale rules engine.
“As pharmacists continue to expand their role in care delivery for services such as point–of–care testing, disease counseling and immunizations, they increasingly need access to information and tools that improve workflow and enhance decision making” said John King, chief executive officer of OmniSYS. “Encounter-Rx makes it easy to bring actionable data and functionality to the point–of–care, when and where it’s needed.”
Through Encounter-Rx, pharmacies will be able to quickly and easily integrate patient immunization and prescription records from the OmniSYS master data management system, callable applications from within OmniSYS as well as other third-party sources. The service provides electronic access to patient immunization history, companion vaccine opportunity identification, immunization registry and public health reporting, prescriber communication and targeted outbound patient communications. Future versions will address workflow and reimbursement challenges created by the different billing pathways for clinical services (medical and pharmacy benefit) and improve the virtual patient experience through enhanced patient communication technologies.
“By simplifying interoperability in the pharmacy, Encounter-Rx helps improve access to information, making pharmacies less reliant on any one system or technology, and keeping the pharmacist and their patients at the center of care,” said King.
